One important commitment
is the 5S.
5S
is a reference to the five Japanese words that describe standardized
cleanup:
Seiri (sort)
Sort out what is needed and what is not needed. When in doubt,
throw it out.
Seiton
(straighten)
Arrange essential things in order for easy access.
Seiso
(scrub)
Keep machines and work areas clean.
Seiketsu
(standardize)
Make cleaning and checking a routine practice.
Shitsuke
(sustain)
Make the 5S a way of life. Requires discipline.
